No Meeting Next Week

There will be no meeting of the GHS next week, 29th March, since it is Easter Friday.

The next meetng will be on the 5th of April in the Scout Hall of the Community Centre.

New members most welcome.

Sad News

We have been saddened by the news that

Findlay McLachlan died in Australia, 18th March 2013, aged 92 years. 

Findlay was one of the famous pipers of Allandale who fought at the battle of El Alamein. 

Greenhill Historical Society Exhibition

The 40th Anniversary of Bonnybridge Community Centre.

Greenhill Historical Society Exhibition commanded great interest in the artefacts, old school registers and photographs.

Wonderful celebration cakes, made by Margaret, were soon all scoffed!

There was some excitement during the day. A fire engine with blue lights flashing......some lads had managed to lock themselves in a cupboard!

This will not be in our usual venue in the Scout Hall

but will be in the Library

GHS Film Show

GHS Film Show

We would like to thank everybody who attended our evening event. It was an enjoyable evening, with great films and good feedback.

Congratulations to Frank, our Chairman, who compiled a 'then and now' slide show with photos, and commentary, covering the history of Bonnybridge. 

The films were ‘2000 Paces’, ‘2001 Paces' and ‘Refractories’.  The first two were films taken around Bonnybridge and events showing local people. The film about the refractories covered the making of specialised bricks made by Stein.
