Temporary Re-location

The History Group will be meeting in the LIBRARY from next week until August.

The Denny Scout Hall is being refurbished and they are re-locating to the Bonnybridge Scout Hall. This means that was cannot use this hall for the time being.

If you have any information or artifacts you would like to share with us, especially interesting would be anything to do with WW1, please come along.

This will be an opportunity for those of you who would drop in, but cannot manage the stairs to the Scout Hall.

We shall be in the Library on Friday afternoons from 2-4pm.

Thank you for Donations

Greenhill Historical Society.

The society would like to say a huge thank you to all those who made donations towards the next edition of Bonnyseen Magazine. The money received will go along way to helping us to produce the a special issue in October/November. This will be dedicated to the experiences of  families who lived in the village during the 1914-18 war and to those who fought and died or were injured in the conflict. We would be delighted to hear from anyone with photographs or other family memories of from the Great War.

Trips

The group had a wonderful trip to Summerlee. It is well worth a visit and makes a great afternoon out.

This coming Friday, 23rd May, we shall be off on another day out. This time we are visiting Bo'ness Steam Railway Museum.

We will NOT be in our usual meeting place on the 23rd May.

We would like to thank everyone who has given donations towards the magazine.
When we know the people who have donated, a thank you letter will be sent out.
However, people hand money to members and
we have no idea where to send a thank you.

Please accept this as a very great thanks.
Without your kind donations, we would not be able to produce the magazine.
Every small amount helps greatly.

We are still looking for stories about WW1. Perhaps something your grandparents told you, even if you think it might not be true! or perhaps a story your parents told you their parents told them. Every little bit will help to make the magazine intersting and local!

We have had wonderful feedback from the launch night.

We were very pleased that people asked questions and gave us information.
This is what we want from these nights, people to join in!

If you have any stories or little bits of information which relate to WW1 in Bonnybridge, we'd love to hear from you. Even if you have a mystery in your famly and want to find out a bit more about it, we will certainly do our best to help. You just never know what we might find!

Magazine Launch

We had a wonderful turnout for our Bonnyseen Magazine Launch even though our date clashed with a meeting in the community centre. The weather was 'with us' this time!

Great talk and display on the Smith and Wellstood company.

The magazine will be available to view on our web site soon.

Our next magazine will be covering WW1 and how it affected people in Bonnybridge and surrounding area. If you have anything, however insignificant it may seem to you, please let us know. We migth be able to expand on it!

Our next meeting will be on Friday 25th April in the Scout Hall between 2-4pm
